Crucian Coconut Festival 2022: Day 1
St. Croix Farmers in Action Inc, presents Crucian Coconut Festival 2022. The festival is in its 6th year of celebration. This year's theme is Celebrate, Hydrate, & Rejuvenate. The annual festivities is held at the Estate Bethlehem Sugar Factory. The event kicked off its celebrations on Friday evening with an opening reception of Fine Art Exhibit showcasing local artists. This afternoon local vendors received the chance to display their products on full display for event goers to purchase. It wouldn't be Coconut Festival without coconut based products. From Coconut Tarts, Coconut Water, based products and more. Other vendors received the opportunity to display handmade items, skincare products made out of local ingredients, and much more. This is my second year attending the festival and I couldn't have roamed the grounds without drinking the Coconut Water right out of the Coconut. Although we didn't receive the chance to cover all of the booths today, they've added a second day so we can check out whatever we missed today. Sunday 4, December, 2022 concludes the coconut festival, but also begins the season of festivities. This evening we attended the Fashion Show featuring local brands such as UpperClass OG, Couver, Laced Legacy, Purpl October, Agape,& Havitowah. We believe in supporting local not just by featuring them on the blog, but also by purchasing something from each pop up shop. Each one of the brands had their own unique style that represented their individuality. The live broadcast can be found on our Facebook Page Stx Entertainment Today. Carnival Meets the Runway 7th Heaven w/ a splash of Color
After almost 3 years with zero festivities, we seem to be adapting to our new normal. Carnival Meets the Runway kicked of on Saturday evening at the D.C. Canegata Ball Park in Christiansted. The theme for this year's event is as followed, Carnival Meets the Runway 7th Heaven; All White Edition with a splash of color. As per usual attendees dressed to impress. The production team did a phenomenal job, from the stage setup, V.I.P section, bars, general seating and more. The event was hosted by the beautiful Julee Lansiquot of the hit series Coconut Vybez. Kaiso Caribbean Entertainment Group greeted attendees upon entrance, later that evening that did an opening number to begin the show. Hosting seems to come naturally to Julee as she kept the crowd entertained while looking absolutely stunning. Local designer Designs By Regal created all 3 looks seen that evening. Of course the look wouldn't be complete without a few pieces by Crucian Gold. Entertainers took center stage giving their best performances. There were performances by Pumpa & the Unit, Vio International, Shaw Hp, BZB, Dj Madness, Lips International, Dj Avalanche, Jougo, TJ, & Tafari from V.I.B.E, Super Trakz INTL & Mic Love.

As the evening progressed we conducted a series of interviews with the host, and the entertainers after their performances. Sanctuary Festival Troupe took the stage to display pieces which will be worn by participants on the day of parade. The picture above displays one of many pieces offered. Sanctuary Festival Troupe is owned and operated by Ms. Chalana Brown. More than anything I would like to give credit, where credit is due and the meal at the V.I.P section were exceptional. Chef Motta inclusive along with Delectable by Chef Tenisha deserves 5 Guava tarts. Elite Choice definitely lives up to their name as they gave top tier service in the V.I.P section during the course of the show. We can only imagine how much work goes into a show of this magnitude. To Alvin Burke Jr. & his team you guys did an splendid job.

A Virgin Islander gracing the October issue of Harper's Bazaar, reigning from the beautiful island of St. Croix to be precise is cause for celebration. 2 Days ago the publication released their collaboration via instagram (bazaarvietnam). It's the year of Jenna Monet as she received the opportunity to model for top designers such as Carlton Jones & Sherri Hill during NYFW ( New York Fashion Week). The model took to social media to thank loyal followers and supporters for their love and support.

The Virgin Islands Bad Bishhhh has spoken. Miss Monea newest single is now out and streaming. Lima Roe: VI Made
Virgin Islands Rapper Lima Roe has recently released visuals to her latest single "VI Made." The United States Virgin Islands is located east of Puerto Rico & west of the British Virgin Islands. The most frequently asked question is where is the Virgin Islands located? Well Lima is yet another Virgin Islands artist to showcase the VI to the world. Throughout the music video a few significant location on each of the islands would appear. The beginning there's an aerial view of St. Thomas U.S.V.I. The other locations were the waterfront in St. Thomas, one of the sugar mills seemed to be in St. John U.S.V.I. & Point U Dal the most eastern part on St. Croix U.S.V.I. If anyone ever questioned where Lima was from, after this music video there will be no question hands down. She's VI born, VI made all you bitches throwing shade. King Lion DeFuture scores distribution deal with VP Records
It's the voice and versatility that makes this unique artist stand out from the rest. King Lion Defuture has proven his musical talents are unlimited. He has dabbled in just about every genre of music you can think of such as Soca, R&B, Dancehall and Reggae! His music career has been an off and on experience for over 10 years however, most recently he has been working overtime releasing numerous hits!
In 2019, he released the single MI AMOR featuring Kruziano. Virgin Islands/Puerto Rican Friendship Weekend Celebration 2022
Virgin Islands/Puerto Rican Friendship weekend has officially kicked off. This year marks 58 years of the annual celebration. The weekend began with praise and worship night at the amphitheater in Sunny Isles. As You may know Puerto Rico was recently devastated by Hurricane Fiona so prayers were dedicated all those affected. The holiday came to pass in 1964 to signify the relationship between Virgin Islanders & Puerto Ricans. National Hispanic Heritage Month is usually celebrated from Sept 15-Oct.15, highlighting the Hispanic community. This year the village is named after Committee President, Joseph Olmeda. Mr. Olmeda made St. Croix his home many years ago. The Governor of the Virgin Islands also held an invite only reception and honored Khnuma Simmonds and Jose Perez. The village is currently being held at the D.C. Canegata Ball Park in Christiansted. A Friendship Queen Show and Parade are usually held during the celebration, but due to unforeseen circumstances it has been eliminated from the festivities this year. This is an event that the entire family can attend. Entry to the event is free, there's live entertainment by local and visiting performers. There are also rides in which the children can enjoy, along with a few vendors catering to the public's needs. Celebrations conclude on October 9, 2022, so be sure to attend the village while you can.

Deli Banger Releases 2 Bangers in 1 Day
Producer, Entrepreneur, DJ and all around Creative Deli Banger, announced via Instagram he recently produced American Singer/Songwriter and Dancer Ciara, featuring American R&B Singer Summer Walker latest single. As the famous saying goes it takes a village. Banger teamed up with fellow Virgin Islands Superstar and friend Theron Thomas, Trinidadian Producer Precision Productions, IamKev, Producer Manager, Musical Director cpamuzik/Cori P. Alexander to create Better Thangs. Better Thangs is currently #7 on the itunes Main Chart. The 2nd release also produced by Deli Banger and performed by Kirk Adams "No Reason" is enlightening. The artist is giving God what he owes him, his life, his praise, his life, his heart. Coming from small islands in the Caribbean in which most people in the mainland cannot identify with. It's a blessing to see this kind of accomplishments by these producers/artists/creatives. Both songs are now out and available on digital streaming platforms.

Trinidadian Soca Artist, Patrice Roberts has just released her latest single Fall in Love; from the Big Cup Riddim produced by Virgin Islands Dj, Dj Avalanche & International Stephen who's also a native of Trinidad. Sweet P as she refers to herself in her single, never disappoints. This time she has teamed up with Virgin Islands Superstar Timo, one half of the famous R.City. The collaborations we've been receiving lately between our Virgin Islanders and Trinidadians is just what the Caribbean Music Industry needs moving forward. Not to mention we get to witness just what can happen when incredible talents team up. The riddim, the visuals, the lyrics, Patrice's outfit choices we're totally here for. Not too mention the background dancers who may have eyes glued to the screens with their beauty. Since premiering on Sept. 17, the music video is trending with 10,735 views via YouTube. Timo Thomas alongside Dj Avalanche represented well for the Virgin Islands. As for Patrice Roberts & International Stephen we look forward to more collaborations with you both in the near future. If anyone follows the dynamic duo Rock City you know the difference between the two brothers. Theron Thomas is super outspoken, while Timo seems like more of the soft spoken one of the 2. Timo slows it down in his latest single, making it the perfect song for just about any moment. Swerve to the left, Swerve to the right, slow wine put the ting in slow mo. Fans praised the artist via social media for the success of the single. There was also a brief visual released about a week ago on the artist insta account featuring his beautiful wife. Just as the title of his latest single, he's in overdrive with his career. Timo was recently spotted via social media alongside the legendary Taurus Riley, and the other half of R.City Theron Thomas. Machel Montano Sellsout Barclays Center for 40th Anniversary
International Soca Artist Machel Montano, has been in the music industry for over 40 years. During that period, he has inspired generations of artists within the industry. On September 5, 2022, the artist host Soca Kingdom at the Barclay's Center in New York City. According to sources the show was sold out as soca lovers gathered to help celebrate Machel's 40 years in the industry. Machel music career began at the tender age of 7. In 1984 he performed at the Felt Forum in Manhattan Square Gardens and released his album Too Young for Soca. It's safe to say he's had a very extraordinary career as a Soca artist. Machel was accompanied on stage by Bunji Garlin, Fay-Ann Lyons, Lyrikal, Motto, Farmer Nappy, Skinny Fabulous, Super Blue, Lil Rick, Nadia Batson, Kerwin Dubois, Problem Child, Lil Natty, & Thunda. Also in attendance were Tarrus Riley, Ding Dong and Wyclef Jean. This was a proud moment for the people of the Caribbean as well as the Soca Community. Machel also received a Certification of Recognition from the City of New York. Once the dust settled he hit social media to express his gratitude.

5'2 hitting the stage at Made in America Festival '22
Virgin Islands Rapper 5'2 is set to perform at Made in America Festival 2022. VisitUSVI submitted 5'2 to the team at RocNation as part of an effort to identify and promote the next big artists coming from the USVirginIslands. The Virgin Islands is serving as the Sole Destination Sponsor at this year's show. Commissioner of Tourism Joseph Boschulte confirmed the Virgin Islands partnership with Made in America to reach a more diverse audience. USVI wants to meet young Millennials and GenZ travelers, who may have heard of the Virgin Islands. They will receive the chance to learn more about our beautiful islands. Director of the Division of Festivals Ian Turnbull expressed his joy of the USVI being able to showcase what we bring to the table with our unique culture, food & music. Headliners include Bad Bunny, Tyler the Creator, and many more. This event will be held in Philadelphia over the Labor Day Weekend. 5'2's unique voice and talent is going to be presented on one of the biggest stages in America. Made in America Festival was founded by Rapper JayZ in 2012. It's annually held in Philly with artists who dabble in various genres of music.

"Drippin" King Lion DeFuture Ft. Iyaz
Drippin by King Lion Defuture ft. Iyaz still remains a hit a few months after its release and here's why. King Lion is a master of his craft. He captivates his audience with his catchy lyrics and aims to influence the masses with messages within his music. Iyaz is an international Singer/Song writer from the Virgin Islands who was discovered in 2008 by American-Jamaican singer Sean Kingston via MySpace. As far as collaborations go this was a pretty incredible one. King Lion compares his attraction to the mystery woman to honey. She's the honey and he's the bee buzzing around her. At this point Lion Defuture is mesmerized by this beauty. Just listening to Iyaz vocals being featured in this single takes us back to some of his most listened to singles and the reason he's appreciated as an artist. "Problem" & "Doing U Dirty" is the definition of Situationship
Singer, Monea has recently released singles which may have listeners relating to similar situations they've encountered. The Virgin Islands singer is no stranger to her music being a little scandalous, while being something that some people in life just know about first hand. If you have ever had issues with your exes, side pieces, or a simple Situationship then you know. "Problem" describes a very persuasive ex, that tries to reconnect with you after making you the problem in the eyes of others. After all is said and done the won't stop trying to reconnect with you, while claiming to not being as happy in their current relationship as they were with you. Too little to late, you missed your opportunity because believe it or not the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
If you thought problem was scandalous wait until you to "Doing U Dirty,". You should pick me instead or her but if you don't that's ok. Finding out that she's not treating you right, but all you're doing is complaining. Whenever you're ready she'll be right there. When is going to release she's doing him dirty. If she doesn't hold on to you tight enough you could be snatched up.
Quite frankly I can't stop listening to her 2 latest singles, because its things that happens everyday. Doing U Dirty & Problem are now out and streaming.
