Under De Influence: A Street Soiree
In our community we have people who make a huge different in the community everyday, however with everyone having such busy schedules there isn't any time for socializing. All of that changed on Friday evening when Ms.Sommer Sibilly-Brown and her team organized an event "Unda De Influence: A Street Soiree. This was an event where influencers of the Virgin Islands gathered in one place, mingled, and networked. Most influencers knew each other or knew of each other, that evening however, we became more familiar with each other. Drinks and conversations flowed, and there were even live interviews courtesy of KGP Virgin Islands and Chalana Brown who produced the interviews. Although the event was by invite only it had an amazing turn out. Something like this needs to occur on a regular basis, its a good scene for entrepreneurs in the community to learn more about each other and visa versa. The moment we walked into the soiree, we felt instantly welcomed. Singers, Musicians, Models, Media personalities, Djs, makeup artists, hair stylist and more were in attendance. The attire was awe-inspiring, the men and women definitely made a statement that evening. We appreciate a good event and this was one of them. An event doesn't always have to be a jam, or a grand social event. The little things count as well, we hope to see more events like this. Different things are not always a bad thing, good things can come from trying something that takes you out of your element.

R. City Celebration Weekend
R.City formally known as Rock City have been working tirelessly for years, and through all their trials and tribulations they never gave up. They eventually rose to the top and are ambassadors to the Virgin Islands and amazing role models in the music industry. They recently received the keys to the city for their amazing contributions as one of our most successful artist aboard. Senator Javan James along with a few other senators and Dj Slik decided to put an entire weekend together to celebrate these amazing men. The weekend began with a press conference in St. Thomas, where the duo presented the plans to improve the Virgin Islands. Saturday evening the party began at Chicken and Bowling in St. Thomas and seemed insane from the many released videos on social media. Sunday evening the party moved over to St. Croix, putting an end to an amazing weekend. Local artists opened the show before the two could hit the stage such as Rude Boy Jett along with his entourage introducing the public to his hit song "Running to the Money like Wow." Mpresz Blackk being the only female rapper that evening hit the stage with full force. She performed her new single "Gang (Gwan Mama)," and VI Touchdown Free Style. Adam O was the next artist to hit the stage, "Mr. Sexy Dance did not disappoint, he performed hits like "Sexy Dance," and Wine&Dip. The final artist to hit the stage is a pillar in the community, rapper and business man "Felix London," singing hits like "Love all Night," a song in which he is featured on with "Pressure Busspipe." Finally the guest of honors hit the stage with full force performing one hit song after the next. The crowd were very engaged with the duo, moving to every word. Senator James joined in on the fun and hit the stage moving to every beat. The perfect end to an amazing action packed weekend. The senator even proposed making this an annual thing with even bigger artist visiting our sweet Virgin Islands. We welcome this idea with open arms, R. City always tell us their story through there music and although it was easy they made it. That's true inspiration to everyone to their goals and dreams. We were inspired just covering this event from the stage, its indeed a different view, then when you're in the crowd. The Virgin Islands are definitely moving up in the music game, keep pushing all your dreams will eventually come true.

UVI Student Activities: We From Ya Concert Review
On Tuesday evening the University of the Virgin Islands hosted "We from Ya Concert." This was organized for local artists and even those who attend the university to showcase just what they can bring to the table. Student activities director Sophia Johnson, set an amazing show in motion. We know a few of these artist who graced the stage, artists like, Niza X, Junior Sparks, Gyasi Clarke, Michonde and George from "YGT The Band" Kruziano, Uncle Mundo, Kimo Dan, Tizzi Tizzi, AJ Davinchi, Crazo Coto, and Nadia. Then we have the new, up and coming artist such as: Kita, Smokey, Aloe and more. The scene for the evening was set, it was breathtaking, inspiring and entertaining. The Virgin Islands has unlimited talent as we have said time and time again, and it takes alot of guts to step out unto a stage and perform not knowing what's to be expected. Then you're not sure if the crowd would like what you've worked extremely hard on, there's the time taken to write, produce and distribute the song to the right platforms. Let's hope the people of the VI paid close attention to the successful event that was the We from Ya Concert. Music tells a story and helps the artist to express themselves in ways we wouldn't imagine possible. Each artist took the stage by storm, they were a force to be reckoned with. The thing that amazed us were the artist who weren't performing, but still supporting in unity. If we continue in unison nothing can stop our little Virgin Islands artists from receiving the recognition they all deserve. Most of these artist have been doing music for 2-3 years and some of us weren't aware. Why is that? Well the reason behind that is simple, if its not your genre of music it won't be on your radar. Sophia and her entire team did a great job with the entire event. Looking forward to the next one.

Kruziano Drops Music Video to new Single "Negacion"
Kruizano is a young and talented Virgin Islander Singer, he is still new to the music business, but that doesn't stop him from making headlines. This artist is talented in more ways than one and as we continue to follow him on his journey. We get to witness something really amazing being created before our very eyes. Let's not get started on his looks, his fans have a very obvious reason to be as obsessed with him as they want to be. He recently released his visuals for his much anticipated song "Negacion," which translates to denial. From the looks of the video he seems to be in denial of who he truly wants to be with, that's our perspective of it at least. This music video was shot at several locations on our beautiful island, St. Croix U.S.V.I. It showcases just how beautiful our little island is, some of the locations in the video was Caribbean Cinemas, Sea View Palms, Ama CaneBay, a drive on the scenic route, and more. You can really see the story behind behind of this mini movie. This is sung in Spanish, but the translation is in English and explains everything. The ladies in the music video also do an amazing job from the moment one of the women walk in on our singer romancing another woman to their encounter while shopping, another girl even joined the mix for a few. We enjoyed the video and hope you will too, here is a taste of what this artist has to offer.
Honestly ladies would you say no to this face, check out the video and let us know what you think. This video was directed by the very talented Nyah Lyan of Aftertainment, a local media company shining the light on our artist and showing the artist like we've never seen them before.

Honoring Our VI Celebrities
These two amazing hard working human beings are my two favorite artist in the Virgin Islands. They are very hard working and strong human beings. Tia and Adam are always on the move and improving their craft each and everyday that goes by it is truly inspiring. This wasn't just a random selection as a blogger I've observed then the determination, strength and courage of these two. My challenge to the people of the Virgin Islands and anyone else that followers St. Croix Entertainment Today faithfully is to post a picture with you and an artist of your choice and tell us two things about them that inspires you.

Supporting our Local Brands: "Heart of a Cruzan"
The owner of this unique brand is a 23 year old Virgin Islander, and although they haven't disclosed us with a name, we know they're passionate about their brand. Heart of a Cruzan is a new up and coming brand which launched in April of 2019 and has been doing exceptionally well. However it doesn't stop there, they intend to keep growing and providing quality products to their customers. Heart of a Cruzan is a family and anyone who supports it is also apart of that family. This local brand is building a platform in hopes that one day they'll be able to give back to their community. Heart of a Cruzan is a representative of clothing brands that expresses the love and compassion of being a native "Crucian." Although they plan on extending their brand to all of the sister islands "Heart of a Cruzan is a term that comes from within." It's for those whose love for their island is more than words can ever express. HOAC doesn't see other local brands as competition they view them more as inspiration, and there is room for everyone to build a successful brand of their own. There aim is to patronize person's of different ethnicity, gender, age, and sexuality. They're eager to provide apparel that represents the culture of the Virgin Islands to the local and neighboring islands. If you haven't gotten a chance to look at their amazing merchandise, visit them at www.hoacruzan.com.
Tia Mason:VI Reggae Queen Collabs with I-Octane on her new single
Tia Mason, our very own Virgin Islands Reggae superstar has done it again. She's released her latest single Black Cocoon. "Longing for You" is one of the first songs out on this new Ep. This single features Jamaican Superstar I-Octane. We just know this is going to be a hit, everything Tia touches turns to gold. The songstress described Black Cocoon as a transformation, because during the time the Ep was written she was going through a transformation as an artist and was thought to herself, what's something that transforms? The answer is simple, a butterfly obviously. It represents the growth she's made as an artist from the beginning of her career to where she's at now. Longing for you will be available on all platforms October 11, 2019. This was produced by Troyton Music, a well known Jamaican producer who has worked with big names such as Elephant Man, Sean Paul, Bennie Man, Wayne Wonder and many more. Now he's producing our very own Tia, we have no doubt that he'll take her straight to the top.
Here is Longing for You!!!
Friday evening we attended our very first Jazz in the Park "Divas edition," although we missed the first performer Seanise Jeffers who has a beautiful voice, and an amazing soul we're sure she absolutely killed it. This event was held at Fort Christian on the lawn, the performers were center stage at the band stand serenading the crowd with beautiful music. Each of the artist had their own unique voice and personally that comes along with it. Eddie Russell a pillar in this community was the event organizer of the evening, this is done on a monthly basis by Community Music Inc, a non profit organization that seeks to bring our diverse community together through music.
This concert happens once a month, from 5:30pm-7:30pm, it first began April 2013 by a small group of music lovers. Edwin Russell, David Bess, Stan and Gayle Vanasse. This was created to encourage and promote social harmony and educational enrichment through music. The reason behind "Jazz in the Park," is to raise funds to create St. Croix music center. Promoting musical growth is one of their major goals and its absolutely amazing. Anything to promote music in the Virgin Islands and even to the world, it always worth it. The evening was short, but it was very sweet and entertaining. The crowd was quite impressed with all the performers and even sang their praises after each of their performances. The 3 performers of the night were Seanise Jeffers, Lorna Freeman, and Blackness Creese. These 3 have the voices of angels, the performer we were most impressed for the evening was Lorna Freeman who closed out the show with her beautiful voice.
Lorna Freeman sang Somewhere over the rainbow from the Wizard of Oz and the crowd was memorized. Blackness Creese is a true inspiration on why women should be united in this music industry today. She showed amazing love and support for Lorna and we loved that. Community Music Inc, put on an a spectacular show and it definitely needs more recognition. Although it was a free show to the public donations are still accepted, the goal of this event was to shed a light on Cruzian Kids Rock a free after school music program. Slightly used instruments and monetary funds are accepted. All in all the event was a success and Community Music Inc, round of applause to what you guys do for the community.

Pumpa shared the stage with some major names in the music business such as, Dexta Daps, Dejour, Footsy, I-Mark, NU Vybes, Small Axe, Grand Masters, Kollision, Hell Fire, Dj Tero, Tno Sounds, and Black Stone. Senator Javan James accompanied these artists to the much anticipated flag festival. For those who might not have known this Pumpa has been performing for 15 years non stop and only continues to give the most epic performances possible. We have no doubt that he killed his performance at the flag festival. This event was hosted by One (1), a event planner based in St. Kitts and Nevis.
