R. City Celebration Weekend
R.City formally known as Rock City have been working tirelessly for years, and through all their trials and tribulations they never gave up. They eventually rose to the top and are ambassadors to the Virgin Islands and amazing role models in the music industry. They recently received the keys to the city for their amazing contributions as one of our most successful artist aboard. Senator Javan James along with a few other senators and Dj Slik decided to put an entire weekend together to celebrate these amazing men. The weekend began with a press conference in St. Thomas, where the duo presented the plans to improve the Virgin Islands. Saturday evening the party began at Chicken and Bowling in St. Thomas and seemed insane from the many released videos on social media. Sunday evening the party moved over to St. Croix, putting an end to an amazing weekend. Local artists opened the show before the two could hit the stage such as Rude Boy Jett along with his entourage introducing the public to his hit song "Running to the Money like Wow." Mpresz Blackk being the only female rapper that evening hit the stage with full force. She performed her new single "Gang (Gwan Mama)," and VI Touchdown Free Style. Adam O was the next artist to hit the stage, "Mr. Sexy Dance did not disappoint, he performed hits like "Sexy Dance," and Wine&Dip. The final artist to hit the stage is a pillar in the community, rapper and business man "Felix London," singing hits like "Love all Night," a song in which he is featured on with "Pressure Busspipe." Finally the guest of honors hit the stage with full force performing one hit song after the next. The crowd were very engaged with the duo, moving to every word. Senator James joined in on the fun and hit the stage moving to every beat. The perfect end to an amazing action packed weekend. The senator even proposed making this an annual thing with even bigger artist visiting our sweet Virgin Islands. We welcome this idea with open arms, R. City always tell us their story through there music and although it was easy they made it. That's true inspiration to everyone to their goals and dreams. We were inspired just covering this event from the stage, its indeed a different view, then when you're in the crowd. The Virgin Islands are definitely moving up in the music game, keep pushing all your dreams will eventually come true.
