St. Thomas Children's Parade 2019

St. Thomas Children's Parade 2019 didn't disappoint the performances were spectacular, the different Steel Pans brought their own unique styles and the queens were absolutely ravishing. It was nothing short of perfect, the perfect weather and perfect performances to go along with it. The hosts of the different media streaming networks did a phenomenal job yesterday introducing and interviewing. Overall it was a good day, but we do encourage more people to show their support to the children they work hard year round to perform for us the least we can do is support. Among those performing were " The Rising Stars Steel Orchestra from St. Croix," " The St. Croix Majorettes" and " The St. Croix Central High School. All 3 of those performances were excellent. Today the Adult's Parade should be very entertaining, we're looking forward to all of the entrees making their way to the judge's stand, stay tuned for a piece on Adult Parade. Happy Carnival 2019.

St. Thomas Carnival 2019

Jouvert morning 2019 on St. Thomas did not disappoint, there was rum, powder, water and more. Both women and men were taking over the scene, the women showing the gifts that God has blessed them with and the men enjoying those gifts by "thiefin a Wine." There were two water trucks and 8 trucks with some amazing performers taking over the scene. The Virgin Islands Consortium covered the jouvert live, did you get a chance to catch the live if not check it out. The band with the biggest group of people was absolutely "Big Band" being the last band to finish of the morning. The celebrities who were in attendance were Timo from R. Ctiy, Bugz, Bugs, Pressure Busspipe, "USVI Ambassador", Felix London, Adam O, The Thi3rd, Swanks, Pollo and more. The bands and Dj's present were Cool Session Brass, Big Band, Triple Kay Band out of "Dominica" Dj Avalanche, and Dj Cypha. It was definitely the right weather for this event, the rain poured which the party goers enjoyed, then the clouds formed to make a beautiful jouvert morning.

In Honor of the Legendary "Trevor Daddy Friday"

Daddy Friday was described as a musical legend in these parts of the Virgin Islands, this man was a true legend as described by many. I've decided to write an article to celebrate such an achieved and talented individual. Many entertainers, artists etc have often looked up to him and have spoken on how big of an inspiration his music has been or impacted them. Mr. Friday was very accomplished as both a lawyer and a musician. He began his singing career with Eddie and the movements and later, got the idea to create Jam Band. Little did he know Jam Band would be a sensation and from then on. Although I was alot younger when the untimely passing of Daddy Friday occurred I enjoy listening to all of the wonderful stories behind this singer's successes. It's been rather terrifying writing this article simply because this man was a legend and I don't want to get it wrong. His performance style was like no other, just going through a few of his performances I was in awe. Even as a blogger I am inspired by all of his achievements to continue down the writing path. Mr. Friday seemed very wise in all that he did fans near and far admired him. Daddy Friday Jams never seemed to be boring or dull, he was the life of the party. Any performance Friday conducted was always Jam packed pardon the pun. Now I'm not writing from knowing him or knowing all of the facts. I'm simply writing this article out of pure respect for this legendary artist. This is absolutely how fascinating how brilliant this man was.

St. Thomas Village Night 2

There were performances by various talents on the second evening such as KMS "Kean Band, Vibes Band, and lastly Big Band and Adam O. The footage above was taken for the carnival village 2018, by the VI Consortium. As we dive into the second evening of Carnival Village we are reminded of the numerous talents we have among us. So many talented performers graced the stage, but the much anticipated Big Band stole the show. Adam O, Mic Love and Bugz Bugs were backed by Big Band and rocked the village. Each artist brought their A game, but together they were mind blowing. In case those reading doesn't know this Big Band was originally Stylee Band, and was later named Big Band after the untimely death of lead singer "Kylo Sylvester." Long live the king he was an incredible performer and will be missed. We are at a lost for words how incredible these artists are, and how they move a crowd in the Virgin Islands we're in awe. We have unlimited talent right here, let's keep giving them the recognition in which they deserve.

Night Life in the Virgin Islands

Night life in the Virgin Islands is very exciting, but what exactly does night life on the island really mean? There are different definitions believe it or not when it comes to night life. We have few clubs available on the island, we have jazz events, we've had a reggae events and more. Musicians are often booked to perform at a few restaurants to serenade guests. After a long day of work or even a long week time it's time to unwind, get dressed in your finest attire and head to the designated locations. If clubbing isn't your thing there are always alternatives. The different night clubs on St. Croix are Starlight and Coconut Night Club for the more mature folks, BES Craft Cocktail Lounge, Legacy Lounge, followed by Cloud 9, it's described as an intimate setting. Corner Pocket is as described it's at a little corner in La reine and often hosts successful events. Ultra Lounge at Chris Hideaway, which lives up to it's name of being hidden and last but not least the famous Aqua Lounge where although it isn't occupied on nightly basis they're still known for hosting some epic parties as well as Shupes Night Club on the board walk. Over in St. Thomas we have to very famous Night Clubs Illusions Night Club and Krush Night Club, both entertainers from St. Thomas and St. Croix often grace the stages of these establishments. The night scene however isn't about clubbing or drinking, it's about keeping a form of entertainment in the evening alive. Do we need a few more things to add to our night life scene on St. Croix definitely, but we have to take the steps to get there, for now cope with what is presented to us.

Ms. Williams became a teacher and an owner of her own dance studio to instill into her students the different aspects of dance. The first year the program began with 50 kids, after the hurricane they were left with 17 kids. The number of students have tripled since then and continues to grow. Featured Artist of the Week: Rudy "Rudy Live"

With so many artist out there it's hard to keep up, but this talented individual is a rare talent . This week we're introducing "Rudy" a Soca artist from our sister island St. Thomas and she's a force of nature. She began her journey with R&B, then dabbled in Reggae, and Dance hall. The reason behind the change was simple the influence of her father being DJ Calabash. Other influences came from the various traveling this artist did from the mainland back to the Virgin Islands and then back to the mainland. Atlanta has a hand to play in where Rudy's career began. She then returned home and began her Soca journey, she was baptized into Soca officially in Tortola by " Lincoln Ward." Come Closer was her first song which could be labeled as R&B. Rudy's mother is from St. Thomas and her Dad is from Antigua, she is from the island of St. Thomas. She's always wanted to be an entertainer from a young age, she loved dancing and that love turned into a love of music. Rudy began writing poetry in school and story telling on a competition level, that was a motivation she needed to be the performer she is today. She has opened for big names such as Ja Cure, Tyrese. She has even worked with Machel Montano. Rudy kept working hard to get where she is today, again one of the few female artist we have in the Virgin Islands. Rudy is leaving her mark, she has two songs out right now " Built For This, and "Push it." Each of these songs are progressing on Rudy's, YouTube channel as we speak. " Push It" music video was done on her birthday. As an artist you have keep pushing and remain relevant. Every artist goes through alot to get to where they are today. The fans often see them, but has no idea what they go through to get the success they need. We look forward to seeing what she has in store for us the fans.

Featured Artist of the Week: Seanise Jeffers

Seanise Jeffers is a local entertainer and was born on the Island of Tortola, BVI, she later moved to Nevis and then St. Croix, VI at the age of 6 or 7. She discovered her voice in the 5th grade when she and her classmates were singing a song from the famous Disney Channel movie "High School Musical." She decided to sing more after discovering her voice and even took up guitar lessons to improve her craft. People and her surroundings are where this artist finds some of her inspiration to be great at what she does. Seanise latest song nice try was written based on something she went through, and decided to write about it. There are many artists in the Virgin Islands, but she stands out with her voice, her craft and her creativity. Some of her inspiration comes from her mother, and singer "Chaday," people and nature. As an independent artist it can sometimes be difficult, especially in the Virgin Islands. There aren't enough outlets for most artist to showcase their talents. We asked Seanise what does VI history means to her and she responded the culture is so rich and that's what made her fall in love with it when she moved to St. Croix. Writing process varies from 5 minutes, to a month or even a year. As she continues to grow she remains humble and dedicated to her craft, let's support her in everything she does and will continue to do. We're hoping to see future collabs with other artist, but for now check out Seanise, I promise you, there won't be any disappointment there. She believes in supporting other artist in the VI, because that's the only way to truly grow in the music industry. When you hear the name Seanise Jeffers don't you forget that name, because this young lady is going places.

Island Vybez " Sunny Side Up Complimentary Brunch"

We were delighted to have attended this event today. Sunny Side up is a complimentary Brunch hosted by Island Vybez very own Theo Sutherland. It was a success to say the least. The guests all looked fabulous, we loved all the ensembles. Tia Mason, Junior Sparks, Francilla and Adam O were also in attendance. We sat down with the owner of Island Vybez Promotions to gain some insight on the event, he stated that the event was a soft launch for invited guests. Sunday Brunch for a few family and friends to celebrate the success of Island Vybez thus far. They've been in the entertainment industry for approximately 2 years now. They began with the party bus which brought a different type of entertainment to the scene, then they dabbled in other events and now we are at present day where they continue to grow as a company. We definitely can't leave Gas Lamp VI out of the Mix, the food that was provided for this event was catered by non other than Gas Lamp VI located in La Grande Princesse next to the old Manor School. Go check it out sometime, they have a new coquito syrup we can't stop raving about it. If you've never heard about island Vybez check them out on Facebook and their other social media platforms. Celebrating all Virgin Islands Artist

There is so much buzz about so many talents in the Virgin Islands, why narrow it down to the top 5 or the top 10. There are so many talented musicians, entertainers, you name it. We can't put all of these people into a category they deserve so much more than that. I want to give recognition to all the Virgin Islands artists, you guys have been doing your thing. Everyone has been pushing, and you've all been working hard as hell to get to where you need to be. Granted it is a journey and a long one at that, but it's not impossible. The video above is one of our VI artists singing Caribbean Strong after we were struck by a cat. 5 hurricane in September 2017. We have a lot to prove, because we are a small island, but we don't give up that easily. Nothing comes easy everything takes time and we are willing to go through the process to make it. I'm inspired by all of the different entertainment we have available in the VI and that's why St.Croix Entertainment is here. Keep pushing guys we're getting there and we will show the world what the VI has to offer.
