Introducing Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris

We usually keep it all about the entertainment, and keep our views about politics to ourselves, but today isn't like any other day today is a historical day. Kamala Harris, made women across the nation proud today. When she became the first woman in history to become the Vice President of the United States of America. Kamala was born October 20, 1964, she served as a senator for the state of California from 2012-2021 and as the attorney general of California from 2011-2017. Madame Vice President was born in Oakland, California, attended and graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Not only is she making history in the black community, she also makes history being the first South Asian American to serve as the highest ranking elected official in history. To all of the young black and Asian Americans along with million other Americans who were tuned in to the inauguration this is an absolute tear jerker and proud moment that will go down in history. A young African American girl can finally look to the white house as inspiration and see someone that looks like her. A person that represents us right next to the most powerful man in the United States. Although she is the second in command to a man, she isn't on the arm of a man as he is sworn in, her husband and family stands proudly as she gets sworn in and to me that's a big deal. Congratulations to President Joe Biden for successfully being sworn in as the 46th President of the United States. Women always had the power to take over the world, but after this historic moment we feel more confident than ever that anything is possible. Performers across America tuned in virtually to celebrate this momentous occasion. Usually there is a ball that follows after the inauguration, but since the pandemic made that a tad bit impossible this year. Participants from the Virgin Islands such as Baton Twirlers, dancers, and steel drums also participated virtually. We would like to than Governor Albert Bryan, Commissioner of Tourism Joseph Boschulte and Assistant Director of the Division of Festivals Shamari Haynes for making that possible. Congratulations to the President and Vice President of the United States of America.
