Aliyah Boston, who is a native of St. Thomas U.S.V.I is an American College Basketball player for the South Carolina Gamecocks of the University of South Carolina. Aliyah was born on December 11, 2001 to Cleone & Algernon Boston. At the age of 12, she moved to Massachusetts with her sister to live with their aunt Jenaire Hodge. In 2020 she became a recipient of the Lisa Leslie Award & USBWA National Freshman of the year. The young basketball star began playing at the tender age of 9, while looking up to her older sister who played the game. Her inspiration for the game came from professional basketball player Candance Parker in which she idolizes. Aliyah Boston attended a private school in Worcester called Worcester Academy. Some of her achievement thus far are Gatorade State Player of the Year (2017, 2018, & 2019). She has 4 gold medals in total, 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup, 2018 Youth Olympic Games, 2018 FIBA U17 World Cup and the 2017 FIBA Americas U16 Championship. In her debut game, Boston’s stats looked like this: 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 blocks in the Gamecocks’ 103-43 rout of Alabama State. Aliyah recently set the SEC record with 20 consecutive double-doubles. The young basketball star was recently featured on ESPN features and highlights with Sportscaster Holly Lowe, where she took them around the island of St. Thomas showing off where she enjoyed playing the game, along with a walk on the beach. There even sat down for an interview with her parents. She also special honor by owner of the very successful sports by Win Mill 2.0 Rashidi Clarance where he displayed her jersey from her high school basketball days.
