Bridgeton, based on Julia Quinn's best selling novels is the talk of the ton lately and who can blame the viewing audience, Sex, Scandal, an anonymous gossip columnist. Bridgeton is based in 19th Century London, during the Regency Era. The script was created by the talented mogul who has brought us hits such as Scandal, Grey's Anatomy among many others. Shonda Rhimes has brought Shondaland to Netflix. The first season debuted on December 25, 2020, while the second season premiered in March of 2022. The show has been a smashing hit since it's premiere, with it's society balls & strict social rules this show is anything but dull. Bridgeton focuses on the 8 Bridgeton siblings as the navigate through London's high Society. Season 3 for the show has just wrapped up productions and we're hopping to hear something really soon. Season 1 focuses on the eldest Daughter Daphne as she makes her debut into society. The Duke of Hastings Mr. Simon with all of his handsome glory comes back into town. His father who has treated him horribly, because he wasn't perfect and stuttered passed away. After his father passed, he came back to town finalize his affairs. Daphne & Simon were the friends to lovers kind which was intriguing so most part. As the episodes progressed, the more I became invested. Who doesn't like a show with drama, sex, friends or strangers who become lovers. Did I mention how handsome all the Bridgeton universe are fine as hell. The ladies aren't bad themselves. The casting director definitely did great when they selected this cast. For those who haven't watched the show as yet I wouldn't want to spoil anything, but I have said so much. The couple endures so much together in their relationship. During the Regency Era young women had to be escorted in public settings, and marriage produced heirs and protected estates. At first they got married out of obligation, because they were caught in the garden together intimately. They soon realized they couldn't hide their burning desires for each other. Did I mention the lots of sex, and Lady Whistledown the local gossip columnist was here for all the juicy details. By the end of Season 1, the duke & duchess of Hastings had produced a son and lived Happily. Season 2 shows the oldest son of the Bridgeton clan Anthony now looking for a suitable wife. The Sharma sisters joined the scandalous society in season 2, and everyone loves, a enemies to lovers story. The growing anticipation of will they or won't they, that makes for great Tv. At first Anthony thought the younger Sharma sister would be a perfect match. He would soon find out how very wrong he was. That slow anticipation and build up, while we the audience are on the edge of our seat wondering will they or won't they award worthy. Imagine being sisters a man yearns for one of you and wants to marry the other out of obligation. If the first 2 seasons were this juicy I can't wait to see the rest of the seasons. Let's not talk about Queen Charlotte: A Bridgeton Story. The series followers Queen Charlotte from her being selected as King George's wife, the up & downs in their marriage. Yes and we're going to mention the lots of sex once more. It also gives us a little more insight into other characters such as Lady Danbury, and many others.
