VI Designer Aria Garcia Directs VI Model JaneishaJohn for Playboy

When Playboy Denmark commissioned Los Angeles based, VI Designer

Aria Garcia, CEO of “AREGA” to direct a double cover, twelve page spread

in the publication’s esteemed January issue. It was only befitting that the

spread was shot with featured top model/ host Janeisha John, on St. Croix,

the US Virgin Islands, home of both Ms. Garcia and Janeisha John.

John, a former Miss US Virgin Islands tourism ambassador and Zeus

Network television producer/host, brought six original pieces, by varying

designers, to life with her classic statuesque physique and iconic beauty.

With its historic and influential ties to Denmark, the goal was to showcase

St. Croix’s unique beauty, while establishing a connection that translates

said beauty to the world. John as a conduit with her polished aesthetic,

mastered the assignment! Authenticity and cultural inclusivity was an

integral part local designers Crucian Gold, and Jamal Drummond of

Ahmadz fashion, were also incorporated in the project.

Sold to the United States by Denmark for $25 million in gold; the US Virgin

Islands is a melting pot of cultures, known not only for its exquisite award

winning beaches, some of which are ranked top in the world, but also as a

Mecca, which places high value on social net worth, as well as a leading

Caribbean destination to work, play and conduct business.

The feature shot by Celebrity photographer, Chris Martin, produced by

Edgar Martin. Showcased hand selected landmarks, which highlighted the

island's rich architecture, as well as its European charm and influence, still

prevalent post Danish rule.

Ones ability to express themselves creatively, through visual and or the

cultural arts, places value and offers awareness; relating to the importance

of reciprocity in cultural diversity and exclusive exchanges. A feat both John

and Garcia were able to achieve.
