Festival Village Begins “The First Night”

Blackest "Blackest and The Fusion Band"

The festival village commenced this evening with an opening ceremony to kick of the show. In attendance were Miss St. Croix 2018-2019, Ms.Rachelle Jn Baptiste, accompanied by the carnival prince and princess. Blackest and The Fusion Band opened up the show for the evening with hits like "Dip" and "Reverse." Spectacular performance as usual from this incredible band. They were followed by Big Band Ft, Mic Love, Bugz Bugz, Monea and Adam O. Their performance brought the house down. The performance was on fire to say the least. Big Band and Bugz Bugz paid tribute to the late Kylo of Kylo and the Stylee band with the infamous big jam hit. Monea performed Gypsy one of her many hit songs and one of the most popular songs right now. Adam O also performed with hits such as Sexy Dance, and Wine and Dip. They each brought their own unique individual flair to tonight's performance. It was simply spectacular. The village was filled with energy, it came alive last night as both young and old danced and enjoyed the different artists. The back dancers were amazing, the bands were amazing. Everything it took to make that night possible was amazing. Tune in every evening to the Virgin Islands Consortium for live coverage. People don't often give these artists the credit they deserve, but they work really hard and they're really amazing and should receive more recognition than they do. No one knows the time and energy that goes into the performances the musicians give, hats off to all the entertainers. Although there was plenty rainfall that didn't stop the action, people jammed underneath the rain to all of the favorite hits of the season. The Virgin Islands Consortium held a back stage interview with the artists after their performances, with a former Ms. St. Croix Anumaat Davis Kahina. She did a phenomenal job, the interviews went very smoothly with. Each artists described how amazing their performances were. Special guest appearances by Marzville who closed the village out with his famous hits. I got a chance to speak to him and he seemed like a very sweet down to earth guy. He spoke very positively of the island, let's hope we receive another visit from him very soon.
